Audience Systems is introducing a range of new solutions to help their customers provide access for the disabled.
The Disability Discrimination Act requires that from October 2004, any physical barrier which makes access for disabled people unreasonably difficult will have to be removed. The affects are being felt right across the board, in facilities ranging from cinemas and theatres to sporting arenas.
Audience Systems' TX Platform System, used in multipurpose areas in schools, sports centres, arenas and theatres, can now be adapted to assist with the integration of disabled people. Sections of the front row can be retracted to accommodate wheelchair users and their companions. The system allows those in wheelchairs to be properly integrated into the body of seating while delivering flexibility to venue managers.
For lecture theatre environments, Audience Systems has introduced a wheelchair writing tablet. This ingenious design enables maximum accessibility and practicality for wheelchair users. It is vertically height adjustable, swivels in the horizontal plane and the tablet folds down when not in use. Its small footprint allows optimum utilisation of space.
